Ever watched err… tried to watch General Conference with young kids? Me too! I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that yours went about like this…
Out comes all the snack and the fun projects that are supposed to keep their attention. The snacks last through one talk, the activities require too much effort with the little kids, the big kids get bored and you end up telling them to be quiet every ten seconds and end up only catching a few words here and there. Does that sound about right?!
That’s how Conference used to be at our house too!
I didn’t love eating my way through General Conference and knew there had to be an easier way to keep my kids attention, that didn’t require lots of explaining on my part.
Insert genius idea to create a HUGE church themed General Conference coloring sheet! I couldn’t wait to show my kids!
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT WAS AMAZING!
This kept my 4 kids attention for HOURS over the next couple days as they worked on all the details of this coloring sheet. And for the first time in forever, I was able to actually hear the talks! And if I’m being honest... I was right in there coloring with them!!
A PERFECT FAMILY ACTIVITY and good for all ages (mine are ages 3-12). Now that’s a BIG WIN in my book!
